The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance, the wise grows it under his feet

 Hello!

It has been a busy, but fulfilling week for me. The new semester started at university and I moved to my new room. And last Friday I went to a make-up workshop with a few friends and it was so much fun! The make-up artist showed how to do the make-up on our own faces, on one eye. We had to do the other eye ourselves, which led to screams like 'OMG, what have I done?' and 'HELP!'. In the end it all turned out good and we all had a separate photo-shoot and some pictures of us all together. This week I will show those pictures of course. And pictures of my new room as well! I really love it, I think it's the prettiest room I've ever had :)

But first, what I looked like today:

 The skirt:

 And the boyfriend ;)

Upside down Eric!

Have a nice week!

There is a huge amount of freedom that comes to you when you take nothing personally

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen!

Since the weather is kinda shitty right now (where I live at least it is), I thought it would be nice to start this post with a happy summer song! I suggest you put this song on before reading on.

To stay in this happy mood, I will only tell the good news. This weekend I will pick up the furniture for my new room, which includes a double bed for only €5,- and a wardrobe for free! And yes, they're secondhand, of course. I will buy a mattress and the blankets new though.
And Wednesday I will actually move in my new room! My parents will bring some more furniture, like a table, a bookcase, some chairs and a mini-tv (the kind that is square haha). I can't wait, this is the first time living on my own with my own stuff. Yay!

AND: I see I've just reached the 200 followers! Thanks everyone!

In this outfit I'm wearing my DIY-bracelets :)

And a picture of Eric!

Have an awesome weekend. And let's pray for some sunshine ;)

Love,

Loes

Remember happiness is a way of travel, not a destination

Hey readers :)

I've been trying to make some extra money lately and I sold some clothes. Not only because I need the money, I also just have way too many clothes and I don't wear half of everything. Another way to get rid of the clothes I never wear, is swapping it with others. So I swapped a newspaper-printed dress for this denim playsuit! I'm lucky it fits perfectly :)
Of course I'm making extra money for my exchange to America next year. I literally can't wait. I think about it several times every single day and I think I'm going nuts slowly. Let's just hope this year will end fast :)

Anyways, here's the denim playsuit!

Some people are so poor, all they have is money

Hello,

First, listen to this song by Maverick Sabre. Close your eyes if you please. This song has this calming effect on me:

Something else calming, I found out, is making bracelets. Last week a friend of mine showed me how to do it (buy some supercheap beads or bracelets with beads and make new ones out of them). I made an entire set of matchy-matchy new bracelets :)

The first one was the hardest, using two pieces of leather. It took about 1,5 hours I guess, but I like the result :)

After that I still had a lot of beads left and made three others, but without leather. All three of them look quite alike, but are slightly different.
This one is the 'neutral' one:

The one with leaves:

And one with flowers:

And this is how they all look together. The day I was making them, I wore a top in the exact same minty colour, so it matched perfectly (didn't do it on purpose though!).

The day before I bought these really pretty earrings at a new shop in town ( I've worn them almost every day since I bought them):

And now, the best part: I found a new room! I'm so exited to move in there, even though it'll only be for about three months. Also my new address is just 5 minutes away from where I live now, so I know the neighborhood already :)

I've got to get up early tomorrow, so I wish you all good night!

Love,

Loes

What do you today can improve all your tomorrows

Hey guys,

I love my radio. Just a few seconds ago it was playing 'don't worry be happy' and right now 'galvanize' (by the chemical brothers) is on. I've loved that song since the first time I saw it on TV. (just looked up when it came out, it was in 2005. So I was about 12.)
Okay so right now my radio-love is sinking a little. Freaking commercials.
Anyways. This is what I was wearing when I went to the park with Eric last weekend!

My nails weren't this orange irl. And the flakies are invisible, just imagine them in there ;)

At some point this plastic bag was blown into our background by the wind. As you can see I get angry at plastic bags doing rude things like ruining backgrounds.

So I just took a photo of Eric sitting across from me :)

And we took some photo's together.

So the inevitable event happened where took a kiss-photo. Shit happens :)

Enjoy your day!

Love,

Loes

Easter-cupcakes and angry chickens

Hey readers!

How was Easter for you guys? This year was the first one for me spending Easter not at home with my parents. In stead I was in my own room in Utrecht with Eric. To keep the Easter-spirit alive, we made some cupcakes with chocolate Easter-eggs :) We brought them to my sisters' house, where we spent the evening with family. And I left the rest in front of my roommates doors as a little surprise :)

I tried to make butter-cream, but I put all the ingredients together immediately, while I should've waited with the butter. So I just gave up and made my own kind of butter-cream. It was tasty though.

The next day we went to the park, just to find the ugliest chickens ever. They came running up to us and we laughed so hard.

But as fast as they came running up to us, they ran away again. They just totally ditched me. How bitchy.

Not only do they eat grass..

..also, they like to eat humans.

Look at its anger! Its wrath!

You are warned.

Have a nice week ;)

Love,

Loes
